Annabel Anyang

Art. Science. Storytelling.

Hello!

I’m Annabel, but my friends call me ASA.

I’m a veterinarian turned PhD researcher at the University of Utah, where I study how zoonotic viruses evolve and jump between species. My research lives at the intersection of molecular virology, protein evolution, biochemistry, and One Health. At the heart of it all is a deep passion for using art and storytelling to make big, complex scientific ideas fun, engaging, and accessible.

When I’m not in the lab pipetting or diving into protein interactions, I’m likely drawing comics, sculpting with clay, or making zines that turn complex research into visual stories. I believe science should be shared, seen, and felt, —and that's  exactly what this little corner of the internet is for.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you find something here that sparks your curiosity, inspires your creativity, or simply makes you smile.

Warmly,

Annabel
