Artwork Description:
Equilibrio Vitae (“The Balance of Life”) explores the delicate equilibrium at the heart of immunology. A blindfolded scientist, echoing Lady Justice, holds symbolic scales, one side carrying immune cells, the other burning with inflammation. In her other hand, a syringe represents science’s tool of intervention and precision.
This piece was inspired by the dual nature of the immune system: a force that can protect or destroy, sometimes, depending on how it's wielded. Equilibrio Vitae is a visual meditation on that fine line between healing and harm, action and restraint. It’s a tribute to the precision required not just in science, but in the body’s internal dialogue between defense and damage.
